3% Principal Balance Reduction Qualification Page!
The following process has been set up to assist
you in applying for your GradPLUS 3% Principal
Balance Reduction.
To qualify for the GradPLUS 3% Principal Balance
Reduction*, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have a GradPLUS loan that was disbursed by
AFC on or after July 1, 2006 but not later than
December 31, 2007;
- Have graduated from a graduate or professional
program;
- Be current and in good standing;
- Submit a Request Form prior to the 180th
day after your graduation date; and
- Your GradPLUS loan must not have been consolidated
with another lender.

the Request Form. If you are unsure how to answer
any of the questions, please contact
customer service for assistance.
*The Principal Balance Reduction is a percentage
of the original principal balance.
PLEASE NOTE: A principal balance reduction is
considered debt forgiveness and may be considered
taxable income to those who qualify. Please consult
